New home for top-notch inspection team
August 2007

SABIC UK’s inspection team and registry have moved into Q-Building, located adjacent to the Wilton Centre complex.
The new accommodation has enabled all SABIC’s Wilton Inspectors to come together for the first time and have ready access to the Inspection Registry. The IMS Pipelines Maintenance team has also moved into Q-Building, improving communication between the two groups that work closely together.
The inspection team was set up in 2005 when the UK Petrochemicals businesses brought the service in-house.
This gave it increased control and resulted in improved standards – to the extent that, in May, it was awarded UKAS accreditation, demonstrating inspection competence against the international ‘gold’ standard ISO 17020.
Inspection Services Manager Peter Wray said achieving the accreditation so soon after taking responsibility for the inspection of all pressure equipment was a major achievement by the whole team.
“We have also completed two years and seven months without recordable injury to associates or contractors representing 135,625 man hours,” he added. “Very well done to everyone for such an excellent performance!”
