Middlesbrough-based Hortech Landscape Management, which manages the grounds at The Wilton Centre, has secured a major safety award from RoSPA.
A team of senior Hortech management representatives, including Richard Powell, Managing Director, Duncan Jones, General Manager, Andrew King, Commercial Manager, and Shane Kosack, National Accounts Manager received the ‘Commended in the Forestry Sector’ Award.
The award, presented by Lord Jordan, of Bournville, was presented at the 2010 Occupational Health & Safety Awards Ceremony, held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel and hosted by RoSPA Chief Executive Sir Tom Mullarkey.
Hortech were the first UK company to be presented with this RoSPA Forestry (encompassing landscape management) Sector Award in 2007, and they have received major Sector Awards every year since, a unique achievement.
Duncan Jones said: “Having health and safety at the heart of our decision making process makes us a more efficient organisation and better able to deliver the needs of the clients in a cost beneficial way. This demonstrates that good safety is good business.”
