C-Capture moves in
October 2011
A company developing technology to make coal power more environmentally friendly has opened a Teesside division at The Wilton Centre.
C-Capture, a spin-out from Leeds University, raised £160,500 from the Finance for Business North East Technology Fund and IP Group to launch the engineering operation.
The business has developed a low-cost, energy-efficient and safe technology which captures carbon dioxide from the flue gas streams of coal-fired power stations and other power generation sites, making coal a more environmentally acceptable energy source.
The division at The Wilton Centre will build and operate a pre-pilot scale demonstrator rig.
