Lecture Theatre given a new look
October 2010
Following on from the successful alterations to the Exhibition Area last year, The Centre landlord has now completed the refurbishment of the Lecture Theatre and the improved area is already attracting a lot of interest from Centre Residents.
In addition to giving the theatre a much-needed new look in the first full refurbishment since 1974, the landlord has also made significant investment into the Audio Visual technology to enhance the experience for users.
Devices installed in the theatre include a new projector with large electronic screen, multiple computer and audio connections, recordable freeview television, automatically controlled lighting and curtains and even an ipod dock, which are all managed by a touch screen control unit.
Other innovations include a ceiling-mounted video camera which can be linked to the Exhibition area, allowing a presentation to be made to an audience of up to 200 people. There is also the facility allowing users to make a recording of their presentation onto DVD, which can be shown elsewhere at a later date.
The thinking behind these new installations is to ensure that the area is as flexible as possible, can be used to stage a variety of events and compliments the facilities in the exhibition area, making it easier for those people wishing to stage events at The Wilton Centre.
