Pharmaceutical world leader stays on Teesside

A drug development and manufacturing company has moved into The Wilton Centre after coming to the end of its lease at the former ICI site in Billingham.

Instruments company makes move

ecom Instruments, the global ATEX equipment manufacturer, is relocating its UK operation to The Wilton Centre. The company has moved from Chesterfield because it wishes to be at the heart of the region's oil and gas, pharmaceutical and petrochemical sectors.

Educational logo launched

The North East Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC), which is based in The Wilton Centre, has launched a logo representing its education work.

Agreement goes from strength to strength

An agreement between Darlington-based firm CTC Marine Projects Ltd and engineering recruitment company TechConsult UK Ltd is helping to increase the number of skilled workers finding employment in the global oil and gas industry.

Health Round-up: Blood Donors 2009

The National Blood Service have visited the Wilton Centre four times this year and 107 donations were made. This is the first year that the Wilton Centre has invited the Service and they will become regular visitors.

Taylor Shaw Catering is inviting customers to enjoy its Christmas Fayre in The Lakeside Restaurant on the 17th & 18th December.

Building Refurbishment Update

Work will start shortly to refurbish "G" Stairwell together with a number of coffee points. The coffee point work will include additional facilities to assist residents in efforts to increase recycling of waste materials. The latest statistics show that during 2009, 40 per cent of solid waste generated at The Wilton Centre was recycled.

Wilton Centre Brochure and Website

A reprint of The Wilton Centre brochure will be available by the end of December. The opportunity has been taken to update the content and copies will be sent to all businesses located at the Centre. Further development of the website includes a revised home page which now includes the latest Wilton Centre News and press releases, local searches for hotels, airports, rail stations, taxis, nurseries and public transport and new photographs.

Christmas Tree 2009

The Presents Round the Tree initiative is running again this year with all presents left by the tree, in Main Reception, given to good causes.

Children in Need 2009

A number of fundraising activities took place for this year’s Children in Need which raised an impressive £919.24. Former Wilton Centre resident Gillian Hayden- Smith returned once again to run a raffle and tombola. WCFM staff Rona Doolan, Sharon Norton, Ann Sherwood and the team at Medacs baked a range of cakes and savouries that they sold around the Centre in the week running up to the event. Many thanks to all of them for their hard-work and to all who lent their generous support.
