Introduction

1 PURPOSE

1.1 To provide instructions and procedures for the Wilton Centre Area so that all residents of the Centre understand what they need to do to comply with the policy and standards covering safety, health and environmental matters.

1.2 To ensure that Centre residents have an updated and easily understood set of documents that explain how to get things done in Wilton Centre.

2 SCOPE

2.1 These Instructions and Procedures apply to all residents, both permanent and temporary, working in the Wilton Centre Area.

3 REFERENCES

3.1 None

4 DEFINITIONS

4.1 Wilton Centre Area: the land and buildings, permanent and temporary, bounded by the A174 to the south, Southway to the north and east, and Queen's Avenue to the west.

5 AUTHORITY

5.1 Instructions and Procedures for the Wilton Centre Area are issued under the authority of the Facilities Manager.

6 RESPONSIBILITIES

6.1 It is a requirement that these Instructions and Procedures be followed by each person working at, or visiting, the Wilton Centre Area.

6.2 Managers are responsible for ensuring that their staff are aware of, and comply with, those instructions and procedures which apply to them.

6.3 Hosts are responsible for ensuring compliance by their visitors.

7 CONTENT AND ISSUE

7.1 The contents of this manual are not restricted but as a minimum shall include instructions and procedures which put into effect the Company SHE Standards & Guidance.

7.2 Instructions and procedures shall be sectionalised under the following main headings. Within each series, each procedure or instruction shall be identified by a unique number allocated by Facilities Management.

- Environmental Management

7.3 A system for writing, approval, issuing, review, up-dating, re-issue, amendment, cancellation, printing, distribution and auditing shall be controlled by Facilities Management.

7.4 A complete set of Wilton Centre Instructions & Procedures is contained in Lotus Notes Database "Wilton Centre & Research Inst on GBWHN005". A controlled hard copy manual is held by Wilton Centre Information & Resource Centre.

7.5 The need for an instruction or a procedure can be identified by any individual and should be drawn to the attention of her or his Line Manager.

7.6 These Wilton Centre Instructions and Procedures address needs that go beyond business and functional boundaries and cover issues of interest and concern to ALL residents within the Wilton Centre Area. Business Managers should note that they are distinct from, and additive to, the R&T Instructions & Procedures.
